Freddie Roach believes that the boxer Miguel Cotto has a promising future, however, stressed that to occupy the front pages of the world of boxing, he needs a coaching change.
In an interview Fanhouse.com, Roach said that Cotto has to consider carefully his future.
"I think Miguel Cotto has a good future, but needs a good coach with more experience. This guy Joe Santiago, all that he does is what Miguel says, "said Roach, who has at his command to Manny Pacquiao.
On the other hand, Roach said that if given the chance to talk to Santiago he will point out some things that might improve when you work with the boxers.
"I would teach how to use the gauntlets so when he recives the punches is more real. He doesn't need to make them slow, is not a dance. The things I do with pets are real, is what happens in fights. The things he does (Santiago), do not happen in fights, "said Roach.
It also claimed that Cotto's corner did the right job to protect you in the duel against Pacquiao. "Santiago had to protect his fighter better. Is a shame a talent like Cotto is letting slip away this time of his career by having such a crappy corner. Someone his father or whoever needs to make him understand that he needs a better trainer.
