"could" and "would have" is different from actually fighting them.

floyd could beat coto, but he has not fought coto, he could beat shane, but he has skirted shane.

there were loads of names that he should have fought but didnt.

actually fighting is better than "could beat."

At 140, Tszyu was there to be fought.

At 147, Mosley, Williams, Cotto and Margarito were there to be fought.

No way would any of them have turned Floyd down at 147, because none of them could have made as much fighting anyone else as they could have by fighting Floyd.

And Floyd never fought any of them at welter, and never attempted to fight any of them at welter.

Instead, he fought Sharmba Mitchell, Carlos Baldomir, Zab Judah, Ricky Hatton and Juan Manuel Marquez - and I'd venture a guess that only the Hatton fight was in the same money league as a fight with Cotto or Mosley would have been.

Is Floyd scared of those guys? Not exactly. But he knows Mosley and Williams would have been a severe danger to his cherished zero, so he never pursued the fights, and chose easier fights against lesser opposition instead.

Afraid: No (though he definitely doesn't seem confident when discussing Shane Mosley).

      Ducking: I'd say yes.

The evidence is there on his resume.

If Floyd beats Pacquiao and Williams he's a Top 20 ATG IMO and he reaches Mannys level

two big ifs. if he agrees to fight Pac and PWill and beats them.

the pac fight is 75% likely to happen.

pwill? naah. floyd won't step up to 154. i don't expect pwill coming down again to WW, either.

and he has to beat them.

Will people say well he started at 106? or he was to small? or he already made his bed? or what cuz im lost on this site..... I mean Pac is definitely a great fighter but definitely not better then Floyd, why cant we see that.. Floyd boxes Pac fights.. Floyd makes you look silly while keeping you on your feet, Pac gets hit then kos you.. Pac is exciting Floyd makes the sport look hard! And when i say hard i mean he makes it look so easy.. Where would Pac go after a loss from Floyd! and what happens if he fights Shane next and loses or Marquez and loses?
              here's the answer:

pac's accomplishments make him an ATG top 10.... floyd's accomplishments doesnt... so if floyd wants to fight for legacy, he needs to make tough fights.... floyd can't beat one guy and then claim he would've beaten them all, it don't work like that.

Up to this day I still don't understand why people still mention mosely as a duck. For the nth time Mosely was offered the fight on two occassions we all know what happened then. In any case, SSM will get his fight after the pac fight any way. Margacheato was a business move, he wanted ODLH so he needed to get out of contract with Arum (at that time ODLH refused to work with Arum); he also told Margacheato to "keep busy, later it will be greater"; Cotto also had his chance at 140 but his team (and promoter) wanted nothing to do with Mayweather at that time. If Cotto won the fight against Pacman, there would be negotiations for PBF and Cotto right now. The fight with Zab was a fight everyone was demanding, they both wanted it and the fans did too, but Zab effed around and got his ass beat by Baldy. Floyd fought that fight then fought Baldy (to beat the man who beat the man). Baldy at that time was the lineal champ. Up to this day I don't see the problem with adding another lineal championship to your name.

Williams however is different story. Just about EVERYONE ducked him!

A fighter will never be able to fight ALL comers, at least in this day and age.
Manny could have fought Valero, Guzman, Nate Campbell, Chris John but he didn't. So one can easily make an argument that Pac-man "ducked" those fighters.

The 1st part of your sentence is fact but the 2nd part.....well that is more like an opinion until proven otherwise.....now isn't it?
