this is the best forum representing what we all likely feel is the best sport in the world - boxing. i love getting on the forum and having intelligent boxing discussion, but parallel the rise of manny pacquiao, i have seen an increasing amount of absolutely ridiculous threads both discrediting pacquiao, and over-praising him. i have seen countless threads showing extreme hate a bias. with these threads come retaliation threads, usually involving floyd mayweather. one guy makes a thread bashing pac and another guy makes a thread bashing floyd. one guy praises pac and another guy praises floyd, and it keeps going on and on... we have heard every single thing you can think up to discredit floyd and pac, and then some more. these threads also bring up far too often, the issue of race. while race has always been an issue on this forum, i feel it is getting even worse now.
the worst problem though, is that as the number of these types of threads increase, the number of threads pertaining to intelligent boxing discussion diminish greatly. this forum is truly losing its luster, and i wish that this forum could be more about positive and neutral boxing discussion and debates that are backed with evidence, not personal insults and hate. i am by no means a veteran of this site, but in my short time here, i have seen a dramatic change, and it is sad.
i know this thread won't do any good, i don't really know why i am typing it, but too many of you are making asses of yourselves, and you need to be more open to changing your opinion. i have gotten destroyed a few times on this website, but it has helped me shape my views to be more neutral and respecting. when floyd beat ricky hatton, i don't need to view that as him avoiding miguel cotto, i view it as floyd knocking out an undefeated, hungry, prime fighter representing an entire country, and i do not like floyd at all. that is the kind of views that people need to start developing.
but the level of negativity and stereotyping that this forum has come to has brought me to make the decision that i will probably not post for a few months, just cause i am disgusted really. if i come back to see the forum in the same state it is now (which is likely) then i may quit the forum entirely. i still think boxing scene is the best site out there, i will always read the articles - but the discussion here has went from A level, to D level, way too fast.
so i bid you a temporary farewell boxing scene.
