Freddie Roach: "Counterpunching is the best way to beat Pac"

This was before the 2nd Marquez & Pacquiao fight........

1:20 of the video he say's....

"I think Marquez will go back to his counter punching style, because that is the best style to deal with a guy that attacks you like Pacquiao"

this was last year, do you believe Roach & Team Pac has resolved the issue with counter punchers since then??

Well, yes I believe Mayweather is the best counter puncher he has faced. I am more or less wondering has Roach or Team Pac corrected this?

It was 4 years in between the 1st Marquez fight and the 2nd one...and it didnt appear in the 2nd Marquez fight that Pac improved on his defense of the right hands & counters

roach says nowadays that they want to fight marquez and KO him, to shut him up once and for all - guess they already has a plan to counter the counterpunching

Maybe a bit. But he will eat counter shots.

But Pac has gotten stronger. Alot.. stronger. With that very solid beard of his, he'll be willing to walk through some shots to deliver damage.

It just depends how many shots he has to walk through to actually lay a glove on Mayweather. But if he can breach Mayweather's guard with fast, volume oriented combinations, Mayweather will be in trouble.

Pac's problem might be that Mayweather wont be stationary enough to Hit & Mayweather is taller with a longer reach...I dont see Pac swarming him with punches like he has his past 4 opponents....I see Mayweather just boxing and moving....frustrating Pac .....we shall see

                quite possible..

its a 50/50 fight to me.

I just can't count Manny out at this stage, no matter what adversity he might be facing.

They need a completely different game plan. Mayweather relies on people following him around the ring and applying constant pressure. Every opponent falls for it.

What happens if Pacquiao doesn't do that? No fight at all? Both would get booed very badly, but personally I wouldn't fall into Mayweather's trap by doing what everyone else did. That's how Pacquiao can lose.

Floyd would have to come forward and take the fight to Pacquiao, if this happened. He is not guaranteed success this way. Trade with Manny and it's far more probable you would get a beatdown.
