People Are Overeacting To Pac's Chin In That Fight

This is not even a real criticism. I just dont get why people act so shocked that Pac could stand up to Cotto's punches so much. Cotto didnt even hit him much. People act like it was a toe to toe brawl for 12 rounds and Cotto hit him with numerous big shots that Pac just walked through. That wasnt the case at all. In the 1st round Cotto mostly only landed jabs but nothing real hard and after like the 5th or 6th round he landed nothing at all. Its not like Pac had to take mad punishment and walk through it. Also, even when Cotto was landing, Pac was landing also and that gave him alot of adrinelin. Basicaly there was only a few hard flurries from Cotto and nothing else the whole fight. People make a big deal about Pac being on the ropes but really, he was only there like a total of 1min the whole fight and half of those shots were blocked.

Again, this is not even to rip Pac. This is moreso about him taking Cotto's shots doesnt prove that he's on steroids. I mean, he didnt take enough hard shots to say that Pac should be KO or really hurt by Cotto

Pacquiao did take some really good shots to the head but not that many. It definitely wasn't a classic brawl by any stretch like some people are trying to say it was.

But it's not just that Pac didn't go down from big power punches.

It's that he didn't get discouraged. Even from a stiff jab that was violently snapping his head back every time it landed. Usually moving up in weight and reacting to a jab with more power than you've ever felt, it will have an impact on your game plan. I thought Pac was very tentative in the first round after feeling Cotto's jab.

          I was wrong.

Yep, i agree in a bit. Cotto really didn't hit Manny on the chin much. More on the body side but I think all in all Pacquiao was getting used to that and all since his fighting bigger guys in sparring and let them hit him at will. So I'm not surprised at all. Basically Pacquiao is not your toe-to-toe type of fighter, he do it seldom but usually just going in and out and moving side by side. The guy is mover.

In the first few rounds he took some mean shots. It would have been interesting to see if Cotto could have followed up on those. But Cotto was buzzed from taking shots his self. And in the later rounds Cotto lost a lot of steam on those punches.
