Has there been any fights in recent history where the better technician lost? If not, then Floyd gets it.

    Is Mayorga-Forrest considered recent history?

Rarely does that happen but we can't say Pacquiao hasn't become a much better technical fighter.

        Froch-Dirrell?

        Malignaggi-Hatton?

Guys with lesser skills often walk right through the technical boxer who doesn't have the power to hurt them.

              Calzaghe?

You think Calzaghe is unskilled? He is different, but not unskilled. Damn!

OK, maybe not the best example (I had Dirrell winning, for the record) but you get what I'm saying, no need to nitpick.

Sorry Sam, but Froch-Dirrell is a terrible example considering many thought Dirrell won. Malignaggi-Hatton, yes.

A great example is Cotto-Margarito. Cotto outmatched Margs in every category except chin, stamina, and size, 3 non technical categories. Still Margarito won. Of course, it's likely he had plaster though.

Froch didn't exactly win. Also, Paulie is a feather fisted one-handed fighter.
