Was that a bad Cotto that turned up ?

I have seen lots of posts on Cotto should get a new trainer etc after the loss to Manny but was that a poor Cotto that turned up or was Manny just too good for him. Hatton looked like Hatton to me when he fought Mayweather he was just out classed after the fight Billy Graham was sacked but IMO he did pretty well in that fight relative to his talents and who ever trained him the loss was inevitable. After the fight Mayweather Snr took over as trainer but that did not work,it was the same old no defense Hatton that turned up for the Manny fight or even a poorer version. One thing is for sure he was no match for Manny.
Was that a poor Cotto that turned up on fight night? Could he really done a lot better ? In Manny's last 3 fights he made DLH, Hatton and Cotto look ordinary with Cotto looking head and shoulders better than the other two. Was that a poor Cotto that turned up or just was Manny is so good he made Cotto look ordinary?

It was a very good Cotto, he was in great shape, but he had a weak corner, 1st rd he looked great then he stoped jabbing, his corner couldnt help him, he got rocked and was running on heart the rest of the fight.

That was a battle-ready Cotto. The advice for necessary adjustments between rounds to get him back in the fight was lacking from his corner. A good corner is necessary at the elite level.

Even with that, though, I think Pacquiao still wins.

Well for one it was a Cotto that didn't have a gameplan.. Once he abandoned the jab he didn't know what to do,not only that he lost his ferocity.. When he had Manny on the ropes,he was barley getting at him after the 1st combo and he hardly threw any jabs and straight rights.. There were a few moments where he flash buzzed Manny and backed him up but didnt follow up..

If Cotto that showed wasn't that good, Manny wouldn't looked beat up.
The only time i felt nervous betting on Manny was on that fight with Cotto, i really thought i'm gonna **** on my pants on the 1st 3 rounds.

cotto's problems are in his head. he does not fight as confidently as he used to. which is understandable after what happened to him against margarito. he needs time off and a few easy touches to get back right.

              and a new trainer.
