Welterweight is Boxing's New Glamor Division

Welterweight has historically been one of boxing's best divisions, but usually overshadowed by the Heavy and Middleweight divisions. But today, Heavy and Middle have become wastelands, void of any real competition or talent. Enter the Welterweight Division. Here's a few of the great match-ups we've seen over the last couple of years...

Mayweather vs Hatton, two P4P, undefeated champions
Cotto vs Margarito, Mexico vs Puerto Rico War
Pacquiao vs De La Hoya, The Dream Match & the start of something truly special
Mosley vs Margarito, Shane KOs the best chin in boxing
Mayweather vs Marquez, the return of the former P4P "king"
Pacquiao vs Cotto, Manny continues his march toward greatness

Welterweight has taken over. And with the possibility of a Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight happening next year, 147 will continue to be boxing's new Glamor Division.

Welterweight is always one of if not the best division in boxing. Some of the biggest and best fights ever happen there, this is nothing new.

meh...after 2010 it will become a barren wasteland and that's when we should start to worry and ask ourselves...

where do we go from here?
