Tavoris Cloud, real deal or not?

Shock horror. Not a Manny/Floyd thread.

so what do you guys make of him. Think he is any good? Ranked 3rd best in his weight class. Behind Roy Jones Jr but i think Cloud beats him.

I think Dawson would UD him to be honest. The division doesnt appear to be loaded and you have 3 out of the top 5 aged 40+.

I think Dawson needs to fight Pascal or Cloud, which ever one has a open spot. I think Cloud is free right now. If Dawson thinks he can beat either fighter then why not fight both? He only makes his career look better and better with wins over both. Then again, he might look on to bigger and better things*money-wise.

Chad Dawson gave up his IBF title to Cloud without a fight for a good reason.

Cloud's a quick and powerful puncher.

HBO won't touch it. Dawson vacated the belt Cloud has right now for a payday didn't he?

Tavoris Cloud is in a similar position Calzaghe was in his career, how can you fight the best if the best don't want to fight you? It's a lose/lose situation for Cloud.

I can understand Dawsons decision. Doesn't look to be many money fights in this division. Dawson needed Calzaghe to fight him.

Dawson is looking at winner of Hopkins/Jones Jr II, but in the meantime maybe he should give these other guys shots even if its not for big pay-checks. Or do you think Dawson and his team are thinking about risk/awards at stake? Meaning he could lose to someone like Cloud and for not alot of money... I wonder...

The way I see it is like this - the winner of an eventual Dawson-Cloud fight is the TRUTH at 175. Until then, we're only seeing "very good" fighters.

thats exactly what it is. they're waitin for the big payday against the winner of jone/hopkins II. they dont want to risk that with a lose
