WHY does MORALES hate BARRERA so much?

Morales hates Barrera because of all the smack Barrera spoke after their first encounter. As you guys might recall Barrera at the end of the 1st fight said Morales wasnt worth a damn. Then in every talk show he appeared on he kept talking a lot of smack of Morales. At their second fight's press conference Morales talked smack back which resulted in Barrera nailing morales there and then. Morales quickly tried to retaliate with a 1-2 (both mens punches were thrown lightning quick i'd hate to be in a street fight against either) I believe Morale's shots however did not land as Barrera quickly hit him and stepped back.
Barrera hates Morales just as much and before he was given the nod to the second fight you could probably argue his hatred towards Morales was even bigger.
In the end it all boils down to one thing... Mexico isnt big enough for both of them to share the spotlight as the reigning pride of Mexico and on the 27th one will emerge and the other will go home and contemplate retirement (yes if Morales looses he too will contemplate it).Last edited by .::|ULTIMATE|::.; 11-25-2004, 01:41 PM.

The MAB-Morales rivalry is not the first, much less, the only rivalry among/between Mexican fighters. Boxing is a mother lode of Mexican rivalries all through the years and such rivalries have helped enrich boxing lore!
There were even rivalries between home-grown Mexican fighters and American-born fighters with Mexican parentage.Last edited by grayfist; 11-25-2004, 01:28 AM.

Another reason could be the fact that Morales was actually born in a boxing gym run by his father in a poor ****** of Mexico. Whereas Barrera only decided to become a boxer after first deciding not to finish law school. It's the typical struggle between the proleteriat and the bourgeoise.
