It's a combination of both. No one (with a sane mind) would pay to see Pacquiao fight against a bum B-class fighter. Facing someone like Cotto is what made it much more interesting that in previous fights. I don't keep track on PPV numbers, but wouldn't surprise me if this was the biggest soldout for both fighters. It isn't just a one man show, the opposition matters on how big the numbers will be.

Pacquiao is the #1 WW, #1 P4P and rated above Floyd on the ATG list by any credible historian so Floyd needs Pac a lot more than Pac needs him.

Pac got his highest PPV numbers with someone not Oscar.

Floyd got his Highest PPV numbers with Oscar.

I've heard that it will be less than 1.5 and perhaps less than Mayweather's 1.4

            LOL @ 50/50.

As of this moment, Pac is the bigger draw.

Based on what you moron? Even if and its a big IF cause i have no idea how these numbers are allready out. Even if Pac/Cotto beats Floyd/Marquez how the **** does that prove he is the bigger draw..

One is vs 2 offensive fighters and was a 50/50 fight to many

The other was some one sided (no one gave Marquez a chance) fight between two COUNTERPUNCHERS.. stylistically it was allways going to be boring and one sided due to weight issues, but still over a million paid for it..

Also and its minor compared to the other points but Cotto has been on ppv before and done 500k with Margarito, both of which at the time were not mainstream or big stars. That in itself shows Cotto has a decent following.
