Though I would like to say that the environment doesn't always produce the mannerisms and patterns of speech one becomes accustom to ; I grew up dirt poor deep in Northeast Philly, surrounded by friends that talked like that, but it just never rubbed off on me.

I just never got accustom to speaking like that.

Hell ; Look at Floyd Mayweather. His upbringing was middle class as hell. He never struggled for anything thanks for his father and uncle. And Grand Rapids isn't even a very "hood" location. I can think of about 50 other Cities more gheto than Grand Rapids.

Yet he still chooses to speak like a "gangsta".

I grew up a poor white. A very poor white. I've never taken offense to the word. No offense, but you seem like an uptight, overly political correct type who likes to play the role of "victim".

His father and his uncle both made a decent living with their boxing careers, and his dad sold drugs on the side. Mayweather never felt any urgency for money in his life ; hence the reason he had such a long and decorated Amateur career.

Had he been so desperate for money, he would've went pro immediately. He himself, has admitted this very recently during an interview where he talked about the whole "Pacquiao astarted at 106" angle.

Grand Rapids is a blue collar, middle class, predominantly white City. His whole "******" image is one that was self created.
