If you haven't seen Foreman-Lyle, then you have to, because that is the Hamed-Kelley of the heavyweight division,

Damn.. yeah. Foreman-Lyle, pure slugging, defense out of the window fight. That was a good one.

The thrillar in mannila was a great fight, maybe not too exciting now because you know whats going to happen, but at the time when the fight was held it seemed that fight would have gone either way. Muhammad ali took the early rounds with his quick accurate punching while Joe came back in the middle rounds with thunderous left hooks to ali's chin and powerful body punches. The fight is probably the most griity and grueling heavyweight macth i've ever seen, thats why its rated so high.
I also liked the pre-fight build up, these two didn't like each other.

        Ali:
        "It will be a killer,
        And a chiller,
        And a thriller,
        When i get the gorilla
        in manilla.

the thing about the manilla fight was it took place around mid-day to accomodate american tv, the temperature in the ring was near 100 degrees. try fighting for 14 rounds in that. ali and frazier should have quit after that, they were never the same.
