No announcement yet.
The proof then- Manny only defeated fighters in decline.

It doesn't matter if you're a '*******' or a 'floyd stan' or whatever else you call someone. People are small minded, prejudice, and rude based on their character, not who they like. With that being said- Pac fans aren't representing their favorite boxer then. Because Pacman doesn't act like a childish ***** calling people names. His fans do, apparently.

This is from BEFORE the fight with Cotto. Roach says Cotto is damaged goods.
Therefore, ANY victory over him is less impressive. How could it be otherwise? Your opponent was "damaged".
Oscar "couldn't pull the trigger". Hatton "can't make weight".
Etc. Etc.
Freddie has basically explained before each of Manny's last three fights that each rival was washed up, in decline, or recovering. Therefore, he established beforehand Manny couldn't have a good night. There was a 'catch'.
Don't get mad at me. Freddie said it.
Floyd meanwhile, defeated an Oscar and a Hatton in their primes.
Making his victories more impressive.
ANY time you fight a guy, whether it be in the ring, or on the street (I realize neither happens to 90% of the tough guys on here- playing Nintendo Wii doesn't count) and someone says the guy you beat was "damaged goods" or "can't pull the trigger" in a fight- YOU know it automatically dilutes any victory you got. You don't look tough or impressive, you look weak for beating up a guy who was in bad health.
So why is it different in this case?

"i bet if he faced a lw at WW at 143 and he came in at 145-146 you would talk so much ****. idiot."
The thing is- I wouldn't.. and he didn't. So that is irrelevant. It's not the subject of the post. The post is for REALITY and WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED AND WHAT WAS SAID. The post is about not what I say, but what FREDDIE ROACH SAID.
And do you live in New Jersey? I'll be at a fight at the Taj Mahal this Friday, then I'll return for the Paul Williams fight on Dec. 5th. I bet if we met up in NJ, you wouldn't talk so much ****. Not to someone's face. ****.

If you lack Stamina Cotto will be able to recover and hurt you in a worst way than when the fight starts and he himself will be stronger, because he won't be out worked by much. the less stamina you have the less punches you can throw or the less power they will have in some portion of the fight.
If you lack Power Cotto will walk right toward you and will be able to break your defense. While not being hurt he will have more stamina and will have a clearer mind to work with making him more precise on his punches and defense.
If you lack a high work rate. Cotto will be able to match your punch output and his defense will also be ready and you will have a lesser chance to hurt him.
Cotto really cant deal with these three important elements in boxing. He would've have to stick more with the jab and use more of his defense. His reach was the same as manny so he couldn't try to land punches from a distance and not get hit back. Unless it was the jab. And although Cotto does use it he's never done a full fight with it. And I think he expected Manny to get hurt and back away, but Manny took those punches as good as any welter weight and i believe thats something he didn't expect to happen that led Miguel to brawl with Manny instead. And by the time he did Cotto was hurt and his gas tank was getting empty while Manny's tank was full and running on diesel.Last edited by DKing; 11-17-2009, 06:01 PM.
