he will definitely get more respect, probably than he's ever recieved in his career up until this point for beating pacquiao. boxingscene is but one little sub-community for hardcore fans and boxing geeks - if you step into the real world you'll find reactions are much more grounded and realistic and i'm fairly certain a victory will secure mayweather as the boxer of the generation in the eyes of the consensus

Anybody who is not biased will give him credit IF he beats Pac. Most people don't give him credit because they feel he doesn't take risks. Pac presents a fighter who can hurt you with one shot and has the speed and southpaw stance to land that shot. Pac after what he did to Cotto is the most dangerous fight out there. Sure you can say you will box Pac easily but saying it and doing it are two different things. I feel that Pac right now is more dangerous than the fighters people claim Floyd ducked. Its a high risk high reward fight.

Funny story....I watched the Baly fight at hooters. It was packed and a bunch of people said TATA would walk Floyd down and stop him. They said it would be wore than the Zab fight by far. After the fight the same guys started yelling "WELL HE WON'T BEAT OSCAR"! These guys were boxing fans not casuals too.
