As much as i don't like Mayweather I'll admit he's always in excellent condition. Always in fighting shape and seems to have a clean lifestyle. Reminds me of Hopkins in that sense.Comment

Don't over train floydFloyd Mayweather Jr. back in the gym Monday in Las Vegas!

It was my last day in Las Vegas Monday, and I returned to the Mayweather gym where I hoped to follow up on the interview I did with Roger Mayweather last week. I took a seat waiting for the top trainer taking in the usual buzzing activity of various fighters in training and listened to the speed bags humming. Roger was tied up doing pad work so I elected to wait. No sooner had I sat down before Leonard Ellerbe arrived, followed by a lineup of Floyd’s entourage. It was just over 36 hours since Manny Pacquiao’s one sided annihilation of Miguel Cotto, and the ‘Money’ man himself was back in the gym.
Back in the gym is a tad misleading. According to those in attendance, he never left it. The official word around the gym was that Floyd was just there to “stay in shape”. Yet just like the buzz heard all around the world, many in attendance at the Mayweather gym were speculating about a potential fight with Manny Pacquiao.
Floyd proceeded to work out for nearly two and a half hours without pause. He looked fit and in great shape. Starting with some shadow boxing, the pound-for-pound Picasso then switched to a rhythmic session on the pads with uncle and head trainer Roger Mayweather.
After that it was moving right to hitting the heavy bag. The entire gym echoed with grunts from Floyd as he raked his branded heavy bag with hook after hook. The motivational speakers in his entourage bellowed out “There can’t be two best fighters… There’s only one Floyd Mayweather!”
Floyd then moved to the speed bag before ending off with some skipping and stretching. While this was not a training camp session it had an air of seriousness among the eager onlookers and the champ himself.
No word or comment on any kind on fight negotiations directly from Team Mayweather today. The word was mum but it was business as usual. Leonard Ellerbe had his phone glued to his ear all afternoon, and we can only speculate with growing intrigue what was being discussed.
After hitting the shower to slide out in time for Monday night Football, Floyd and his entourage started to make it’s way out. It was the only time today that I heard Floyd mention Manny Pacquiao’s name, as he bellowed out to some onlookers that they should “Come back after I kick Pacquiao’s ass!”
The pride of Grand Rapids, Michigan is always quick to point out that all roads lead to Floyd Mayweather, and hopefully for all our sakes we get to see the Pacquiao express heading straight in that direction.
There appears to be an overwhelming feeling in boxing that a historic showdown is on the horizon. Nothing is confirmed yet, but it is encouraging news to see that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is hard at work in the gym on November afternoon.
I don't wanna hear more excuses
