Pacquiao admitted that the punches hurt...

...during the post fight press conference. However he said that he was 'pretending' to not be hurt by them to defeat Cotto mentally as well as physically. Cotto landed his share of hard shots on Manny, but Manny took them better than even I expected.

Although Manny took Cotto's shots well, I'm wondering if Cotto put enough leather on Manny to possibly affect Manny's future performances. Cotto is a very heavy handed puncher, not a one punch KO guy, but someone who definitely does damage over the course of a fight.

I'm still convinced Cotto took some of the fight out of Margarito. Although he lost that fight, he landed some hellacious shots on the Tijuana Tornado. And I think those heavy shots affected Tony in his next fight with Shane.

With that said, is it possible that Miguel Cotto landed enough, hard, true Welterweight punches to possibly take some of the fight out of the Pacman?

Bro, there's no way to answer your question, until PAC gets in the ring again, duh.

As much as Roach got into Santiago's head for what he said to the media. I guess Cotto and Co got into PAC's head for the comments they made that they were just too big and strong for PAC.

I said the same thing. For all we know, everytime Margarito smiled, Cotto may have hurt him and not known. Mentally that could mess up a dude but Shane was very strong mentally and didn't back up.

Smiling after a hard shot usually means it hurt, see Winky Wright and Floyd Mayweather.

I think Cotto and Margarito more or less, ended each other's careers that night.

He did a damn good job of it, too. Seeing Pacquiao just shrug off those shots and smile must've destroyed Cotto mentally. Deceptively, perhaps, it looked like he had no power - even though we all know he has big time power and could've given anyone else a much better fight.

Pacquiao's chin is more granite than Margarito's.

I don't think pac was talking specifically about cotto's punches.... I think he was talking in general that getting hit hurts but you gotta work through the pain, but I can see why you interpret it the way you do....

personally I think something is lost in translation.
