So, I guess by that statement that you feel like Hatton is the same exact fighter that beat Kostya Tszyu in 2005?

Or better, is he even the same guy that lost to Mayweather in 2007?

    If so, I disagree.

True I suppose. But I think it's better to pour out your heart gunning for the chance to win rather than running for dear life and eventually getting pummelled into submission like Cotto was twice.

The point is that Hatton's punch resistance has failed him. Pac is powerful, but people have forgotten that Hatton was buzzed in other fights he has won since the Tszyu fight wheras in that fight, he walked through hell and back and ate monsterous right hands that would make Pacquiao blush and kept moving forward.

In my opinion, Hatton has gained more and more weight between fights since becoming a world champ and it has taken a toll on him. We are seeing the effects. He will always still do well against guys who aren't super ring technicians or monster punchers, but put him in there with beasts like Pac, Mayweather and Mosley and sure he's going to lose at this stage......but......

............a little over 4 years ago in June, I'm not so sure.

It is a proven FACT that losing weight equals slowing in reflexes and errosion of punch resistance.

I.e........... Roy Jones, Chris Byrd, Ricky Hatton to name a few.
Are you trying to say that the Hatton that fought Tszyu would've had a better chance at beating PAC ?

Hatton had alot of help in the Tszyu fight. The ref played a key role in that fight. Y'all also have to remember where exactly Hatton was catching those shots from Tszyu, I don't recall them being chin shots. I mean, alot of people can get caught hard and clean on the forehead and cheeckbone and still keep goin'. The side of chin/temple is a different story.

are you saying he was shot against pac?

any version of hatton would have been pretty much a field day for pac. you just can't bum rush this guy and it's a fact that hatton's defense consists of absorbing punches with his face. against other boxers, yes the added punch resistance would have helped, but not against pac. he had hatton timed so well in their fight, it's not even close. i don't care which hatton you put in that ring but i'm pretty sure he'd still have the same habits, flaws, etc... stuffs that were keys in most of pac's game plans

please don't even bring up tszyu, that was more of a wrestling match, or maybe you didn't even notice it? bring a ref like bayless in a match with that tszyu and that hatton and i guarantee you would have a very different outcome.

Cotto is going to do one of these in a 12 round session, they have hired Usain Bolt to film him for the last 4 rounds.
