While it might look like I'm blowing my own trumpet here, I'm really not wanting to do that, but it was just always obvious he would be able to take the punishment and remain upright. People underestimated Porter, they said "yeah, but Porter isn't Cotto, dumbass!" Doesn't matter. He sparred Pacquiao for many, many weeks and he could not put Manny on the canvas despite the extra incentive of Roach offering $1000 to anyone who could deck him. So, with all the chances he had, the chance of Cotto being able to do it in 36 minutes was minimal.

Manny is correct when he says if you work hard in the gym the fight is easy. There's no better way of putting it. The way to train for a hard hitter like Cotto is to utilize sparring partners who are bigger and faster than the opponent, and it worked perfectly.

Porter deserves credit. He was a huge help in this latest Pacquiao victory.
imho, you were being bold basing it on porter.

I was being conversative... imho, I like my pick better, but no guts no glory.

Cotto's preparation and camp was all planned by him..he ran the **** and Santiago would oblige..He's a typical YES MAN..I'll be the one to say...Miguel Angel NEEDS Evangelista back!!
Completely agree. Maybe Evangelista would not have made a difference and maybe he would have, but I bet Cotto would have taken less punishment if Evangelista had been there. I don't want to knock Santiago. He tried, but evidently there is a LOT more to being a trainer than observing and hoping to repeat what he learned from Evangelista.

Deep inside he knows he needs a real trainer he just doesn't want to **** on his corner. Arum will make sure that Santiago will not be head trainer again this is the last time we'll see him as Cotto's head trainer.
