Its true about Shane moving up because of weight, apparently Stevie Johnston and the other Champions were not interested in fighting Mosley so he said something along the lines of, if they wont fight me then i might aswell move up instead of having them wait until im struggling badly! at the weight and then want to take a fight with me. I think Mosley fought at 140 as an amateur, what does that tell you?
This is funny because I just read an article yesterday where Berto was saying the exact same things about Shane. He said Shane talked all that smack behind his back but in person Berto told him to say what he was saying behind his back but Shane backed off and just smiled. Berto acted like he chumped Shane but now Shane is trying to say that same stuff about Floyd. Its a joke
LAS VEGAS -- During the months when their fight was being negotiated, welterweight stars Shane Mosley and Andre Berto had words.
Berto said Mosley, who, at 38, is the aging veteran, "had some disrespectful things to say on a few interviews."
But on Saturday, following a press conference announcing their Jan. 30 matchup at Mandalay Bay, the two boxers finally met face-to-face.
And it was the younger Berto who believes that he got the best of their exchange.
"I had to set him straight because he had had some slick things to say, basically in the past, and I was like, 'We're face-to-face now, so what you got to say.' And he was just trying to brush it off a little bit," said Berto, who will be making the fourth defense of his WBC title and who is 25-0 with 19 knockouts.
"I know how Shane is. Everybody knows how Shane is. That's not Shane. There's nothing tough or gangster about him," said Berto, 26, who will be fighting in Las Vegas for only the second time in his career. "So I wanted to clear those things up, and I said, 'You're in front of me now, what do you have to say?' And he basically went to smiling, doing that thing that he does."
Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs) has won his last two bouts over former world champions Ricardo Mayorga and Antonio Margarito by knockouts in the 12th and ninth rounds, respectively.
The WBA's super champion, Mosley also owns two victories over Oscar De La Hoya, but is considered to be an aging fighter, having turned 38 on Sept. 7.
"Berto was always a possible opponent, even before I was fighting Margarito. It was asked of me if I wanted to fight Berto or Margarito, and I said that I wanted to fight Margarito because I considered him to be the best," said Mosley. "I didn't go for the person who was considered to be the lesser opponent, but the more difficult opponent, and that's just the fighter that I am."
In Berto, Mosley could be facing the younger, mirror-image of himself: an explosive, speedy, up-and-coming talent.
"This is not so much about Andre Berto, it's just that I want to be the best that I can possibly be every time that I go into the ring. I want the fans and the people to know that I'm the best fighter," said Mosley.
"It's nothing about taking this out on Andre Berto, I just want to show the fans and everybody that I'm the best fighter. If I can't get the Manny Pacquiaos or the Floyd Mayweathers, and they go off into the sunset, then so be it. I'll still be here," said Mosley.
"And I've got three or four years to do that. I've got money. I'm not a very extravagant guy. I have money saved in the bank," said Mosley. "I have like four more years that I can reach $20 million as long as I keep fighting and stay in shape and don't take anybody for granted. As long as I keep doing that, these guys are in trouble."
Berto earned his title as a 24-year-old with a seventh-round knockout of Miguel Angel Rodriguez in June 2008.
"Shane used to show up at a lot of my previous fights. He used to come up to me afterward and talk to me and be amazed by a lot of performances and said that I reminded him of himself," said Berto.
"But I think that my last two or three fights, I worked on some things. He probably forgot that aggressive style that I have, and I have to remind him of the stuff that he was nervous about a few fights back," said Berto. "The deal is done, and it's time to get it on. I'm going to show the world a new era. "

Mosley's frustrated and Berto will feel his frustration inside the ring.
Berto's a kid, he spends his day on twitter and is acting like he's punking cats. It's a public interview, Berto must think he's in high school or something 'talking behind his back' .
