If you mean having a more durable face in the LIGHTWEIGHT division--yes, but actually landing anything signficant the entire fight? No. Cotto landed more signficant punches than David Diaz and actually hurt Pacquiao. Was Pacquiao's face and injured ear enough evidence?

but of course cotto's bigger and landed a lot more and solid shots against pac.

Pac wasn't as strong at 135 as he is now but yes he survived beeter. However he was not very sucessful at winning a round.

David Diaz was not competitive at all. He should not be given another title shot. He hasn't earned it. Cotto on the other hand is worthy enough in my opinion.
