Tuneup bout after almost 2 years of inactivity...Marquez is a bigger name than Quintana, Clottey, or any lower ranked WW's...

And he won't because he's not skilled enough and does not have the balls to even try.

      Sad thing.
So beating the best at 130 and 135 was not significant? Who should he have fought?

c'mon mate, i'm not talking about shane, who's the lineal WW champ right now. I'm talking about floyd. surely you agree he is a paper tiger for not fighting the elite guys when he had the chance to do so.

why didn't he take on a good WW in his tuneup? He also had the chance to take an elite one before he "retired."

He's a paper tiger, mate. Sorry.

if marquez was a tuneup why was he promoting it as numero uno? the battle for p4p supremacy against a bloated lightweight? shouldn't the real title be tuneup numero uno

So the casual fans would think Marquez really stood a chance...

Marquez couldn't beat Floyd at any weight and 130-135 hungry Floyd would stop him...

lol I like this term and it's very fitting. In the eyes of his loyal followers, "on paper" is basically where he gets his fights done.

                      Mosley? "Mayweather beats him."
                      Williams? " Mayweather's too good."
                      Cotto? "Mayweather cuts him up"

Basically he doesn't even need to fight anyone to be declared the winner of proposed bout.

Speaking of Cotto, if someone told me 3-4 years ago that Pacquiao would be fighting him before Mayweather, I'd have laughed my ass off. Cotto's been an option since Mayweather was at 140, but I guess harder challenges such as the Gattis, Baldomirs and Judahs were more pressing matters.
