while i wouldnt say he needs to fight an african american, truthfully, all of the all time greats ended up facing every style. On the way up, pac did not face joan guzman, but he has an oppurtunity to face mayweather who fits the mold of what people are talking about. Basically, other than marquez, just about everybody pac has fought have been either boxer punchers like himself, or engaging/will imposing fighters. Nobody really "moves" against pac.

Think about this, guys like Ali literally faced every style. A defensive minded slick fighter is something pac has NOT really faced or if he has, its been a VERY long time.

While hes considered an all time great, just like Duran is, facing every style is critical in judging his position on that ladder.

Pacquiao = Jack Dempsey if he doesnt fight a African American fighter.
