    Spadafora Update....

    Spadafora to undergo surgery!
Michael Acri, promoter for former IBF lightweight champion and current undefeated jr. welterweight contender Paul "The Pittsburgh Kid" Spadafora, announced today that Spadafora is scheduled to undergo surgery, December 1, to remove two bone spurs from his left elbow. Spadafora, 38-0-1 (15 KOs), from Pittsburgh, PA, is currently world-rated No. 5 by the WBC and No. 6 by the IBF
    ----------
Acri also announced the postponement of his 20th annual Erie Boxing Classic. The new date is Friday, December 17 at the Avalon Hotel. The postponement was due to needing more time to find a suitable opponent for undefeated heavyweight Brian Minto, 18-0 (11 KOs), who will be fighting in the main event.

Last time I had talked to a guy about his troubles was that he is on house arrest and waiting trial (which was supposedly this or next month) for the shooting of his girlfriend....

However, this isnt taking into account his substance abuse charges and failing of drug tests....

You will not be seeing Spaddy in the ring until late 2005 early 2006 or at all....

Good update spinksjinz - I was wondering what was happening with him.

By the way, I live in Kent, and yes that is me boxing. We made a ring in my buddies back yard and have a few boxing nights a month. If you're interested in it at all let me know... we are always looking for more people to start in spring.

Who in the **** cares? I never liked spadafora, he never set the world on fire when he stepped in the ring. Good boxer, don't get me wrong...but I found him boring to watch cos he didn't have the punching power to do any lethal damage so I knew it'd be a 12rounder.

              Just my opinion.

If they put him in there with a live body or skilled fighter, Spaddy is done. He has no power and his boxing skills are suspect. He's been babied throughout his career. It's time to put a stop to this.

Yeah he had 20 lbs on me, but I went out there and knocked him out of those ropes. I've boxed quite a few times now and do some training so I was ready

Yeah we have all weights from me at 140 to a guy at 220 (who I fought a few years ago.) A friend of mine knocked a guy out that night...he's at 185. Everyone is pretty good, but we always want better.
