I think Cotto will retire, he said that he will retire at 30 anyways (29 at the moment). But if he really wants to get back to fame he will need time to heal up and a completly new corner. Family/Friends in business dont match, I know that in boxing most trainers are the fighters dad but when they need real help they need an outsider trainer with real experience.

Cotto is done I think. He just isn't the same fighter anymore that he once was. I think he needs sometime away from the sport... Hire a better trainer and just get a better quality corner that actually knows what there doing. Because the crew he had last night was absolutely horrible... when a fighter is taking a beating the way he was they needed to step in and stop the fight... Not let him take more punishment. They also wheren't there for him tactically either...they gave him no instructions at anytime that could have helped him change the out look of last nights fight. Bottom line is,he needs to start with his corner first and for most. Otherwise he'll never get back to being the fighter that he once was. After last nights beating, I don't know if he'll every be the same.

I'm a great Cotto fan, but I think he should retire.
Did you see the way his face swelled up? Only seen that since the Margo fight.. Not sure if Margo's gloves did that.. But the way Cotto's face swells up now.. OMG.. Never seen anything like it.. He got a payday and should enjoy it. If he values his health.. He should think twice about it.. The Tony fight will always be cemented in his career.
Z Gorres is in a coma.. I wouldn't want Cotto to be in one.
