Steward wasn't going to train Harris originally - he saw Harris sparring and was going to turn him down until Harris let him know that he was already the WBA champion.

His own trainer didn't know who he was - Harris badly needs some exposure. Fighting on the Gatti-PBF card is exactly what he needs - he's been acting like he's the man in the division already but the public don't know who he is.

Fair point - but I'm not claiming I'm the man around here
Joined in July for the download section - I was posting on a different board but I'm looking to get involved on others like this one

          Absolutely fix.

          PBF and ViVian

Floyd's handspeed and counterpunching would have an adverse effect on the way Harris fights. Slickness, that Vivian uses in coalition with his punching power would be COMPLETELY nullified by lateral movement. Who better to do just that, than Floyd. Vivian has virtually fought unknown fighters, and has for the most part: looked impressive in doing so. He does deserve a shot at bigger fights and paydays, but he is in such a tough division, that his "Paydays" are limited. For one: he is not a big name, nor is he the most exciting fighter. He is not boring, but if faced with a more stern test, he will lull the crowd to sleep with his technical style. He does throw decent power punches, and this would be his only shot at beating PBF. He would have to load up on the back foot, and throw chopping shots to disable Mayweather. PBF is far too quick and smart IMO. He is also such a good god damn counterpuncher. He does not throw "individual" returns like a Casamayor does, he waits untill the right moment to unload on his opponents. He can read them inside and out, and they seem helpless by him dictating the pace of every one of his fights. A Pugilist master.

          ViVian and Cotto

Cotto would have worlds of trouble with Vivian's slickness. Combined with the fact that his chin is not up to par by most of our standards, it would only be a matter of time before he would get caught with a good shot. I do not think Harris would knock him out early, but I do think he would win the fight. Cotto did show some heart by staying upright against Corley after eating those bombs. The fight would be similar, except Harris would "feel Cotto out" for a while, before standing and trading.

Judah laughed and replied "I beat that ***** in the gym!" Judah signed a contract to fight Harris but Harris never signed. Never even really tried to work out a deal.
I thought Vivian Harris and Judah were friends? I think in that interview he did (the one where the ***** ASS COTTO!!! comment came from), he said "my man Zab Judah" and refered to him as his boy. They are both from Brooklyn.

I don't think Harris beats Cotto. It would be a good fight, but Harris' chin hasn't been checked, either. Cotto took some bombs from Pinto and Bailey that didn't affect him at all. Chop just happened to punch him right on the ear. That would affect anyone's balance. Look what happened to Roy. The punch that set up the KO against Johnson was one right on Roy's ear. I still think Cotto has a very good chin.

Harris is too unknown to be taken seriously. The risk of fighting him doesn't outweigh the rewards. Cotto wanted to fight Sharmba Mitchell for an $800.000 payday and Mitchell durned it down. That's more money than he made against Tszyu but he said he didn't want to make 140 anymore. That says that Cotto isn't scared if he was willing to fight the man who was considered the best at 140 before the KZ fight (second best by some).

Harris should fight Witter, their both well know for calling fighters out and it would be an interesting match up.

I think if Harris is Emanuel, Emanuel can really help him put everything together, and be dominant, he just needs more fights, I hope he does well on his next fight and make the division even more exciting
