True or False: Cotto needs to retire

    I says true.

He just doesn't have "it" anymore.

Stop with this BS man. Cotto was perfectly conditioned and ready to go prior to the fight. Cotto is not washed up he was just beaten by the beast Pacquiao, it's nothing to be embarrassed about because most fighters get beat downs from Pacquiao! Cotto still has it, i can assure you.

Why is it that when Manny (One of the top 25 fighters ever to step in the ring, in his absolute prime) beats someone they automaticly need to retire?

Maybe Hatton and Cotto lost because Manny is that damn good?

No he should keep going. He can easily become world champion again and earn alot of money. Losing to the best doesn't = retirement.

i think cotto still has alot to offer, he is a good fighter who not so long ago went tooth and nail with clottey.

i think we should see him in a fight with someone outside the top 10 at WW, then we can really gauge if he has 'it' anymore. imo he should take an easy fight and then maybe look for collazo or hatton.

like i said though imo he still has alot of big fights to be made.

dumbass cotto fans, seriously the cottos stans that say cotto should retire for losing to an ATG like manny pacquiao(which coudl be argued to be top 20) are not fans, just some posers who back up a fighter with a '0'(in cottos case not really being defeated except by marg which was cheating)

you need to stop with the bull****

Cotto should not retire. He will still be very competitive against other 147lbers.

He lost to the best fighter of this era. There is no shame in that.

no not yet IMO... he still had a great year...

damn he was a candidate for fighter of the year this 2009...

his win over clottey was better than PBF's over JMM IMO...

no shame losing to a genuine ATG...

I think Cotto's best days are over... Two brutal looses to Margacheato and Pacman, and he had some hard fights before that, i think he passed his prime.

Does he need retire, probably does. But first, he needs to take a long vacation, get some tune up fight, see how he does feel there, and decide after that.

There is no point in fighting for him, if he can't fight against best opponents in his weight class.

I don't think he needs to retire, I think Manny is just that good.
