First of all I would like to extend my respect to Miguel Angel Cotto for giving his best so that there will be no excuses. He showed up to fight...did not under estimate Pacman. It just so happen that Pacquiao was the better man at that moment, if not the best.
I was first a Cotto fan before I became a Pacquiao fan, so this fight is really something special to me. And I cannot believe Manny did that to Cotto, I'm still in quite a shock of the outcome.
All my respect to Cotto for being a gentleman, he said he cannot see Pacquiao's punches, he also said that his father did not want him to continue after the 11th round, Cotto did not want to continue too but Santiago persuaded Don Miguel and Cotto to go on. It must be pride in Joe Santiago's side, he did not want Cotto detractors to say that Miguel Angel Cotto is a quitter. Even if Cotto quit in his corner I would understand it. Cotto is a very brave warrior, a good person... a professional. Boricuas must be proud.
Now what can I say about Pacquiao? what else can be said? The world already know who he was, who he is, and who he will be in history.
We are fortunate to witness something like this in boxing, a modern day great fighting the best in his era.
As for the next fight, people want Floyd Jr. Freddie likes that match too. But even though I love to see that fight I would just say "Hold your horses!"
not just yet! Floyd Jr. is a great boxer, a skillful talented, gifted fighter. A master of defense. A smart man in choosing his opponents. But he should not have a special treatment... why? he quit/retired while he's in his prime, while his weight division was blessed with exciting and talented fighters. His reason of an early retirement? only Floyd knows. And now he's back and gets the big fights? a fight that Mosley deserve, he waited too long for a big money fight. If Floyd wants Manny he should fight Cotto, Mosley, or even Margarito.
Pacquiao is no doubt the best fighter of this era, not Floyd Jr. of course we know why. A Pacquiao loss after what we have all witnessed would not erase that.
Mosley vs. Floyd should happen...the winner gets a shot at Manny Pacquiao.
