Has Cotto's skill diminished since leaving Evangelista Cotto?

I watched Cotto vs Jennings (his last fight Evangelista) and Cotto looked sharp as ever. Say what you about their rocky relationship it worked.

If Cotto still had Evangelista as his trainer, he certainly would of prepared Cotto better for the fight. The thing was Cotto should of walked Pacquiao down, he's the bigger man, he should of went for the knock out, and Pacquiao even allowed Cotto walk him down, but Cotto didn't take advantage of it. One minor mistake will cost you a fight.

No I'm not comparing those two, but Cotto looked really good after suffering a defeat from Margarito, and Evangalista helped Cotto looked good.

Well if I was Cotto's trainer, I would of told him to be the brawler/boxer, not boxer/counter-puncher.

just another point of view but, don{t you think it is hard to win a fight against an ATG with a bleeding broken nose that has you spitting blood by the sixth round¿¿ if you can{t breath your punches wil have no power and therefore allow your foe to come at you with greater confidence..

I was afraid this would happen... I said it 2 weeks ago manny beats cotto if he breaks his nose...

you don{t think that had anything to do with it¿¿

I understand Manny Pacquiao is a great boxer, but I was really rooting for Cotto though.

Yes, as Roach said, an experience trainer will be able to remind Cotto the good and bad habits. I noticed something Cotto wasn't nearly throwing enough jabs as he should've.

me too.... but the answer to your question is no.. cotto skills have not diminished.. but his body has deteriorated IMO. it is difficult to win a fight bleeding out your nose.. just asking if you think that was a factor..

He probably did suffer a broken nose earlier in the fight, but the way Cotto was boxing he would of suffered a broken nose no matter what. I think his skills diminished since leaving Evagalista. Evangalista would of helped Cotto a lot despite there awkward relationship. Freddie Roach wasn't just playing mind games when he said Cotto's trainer is too inexperienced.
