My thoughts on Pacquiao-Cotto

Cotto had the wrong approach fighting Pacquiao. He should of played to his strengths which was walk a smaller fighter down, Pacquiao EVEN allowed Cotto to do that to him. That's the thing with Pacquiao one small mistake will cost you. Cotto being a counter-puncher/boxer played right into Pacquiao hands. He should of been the brawler/boxer, aim for the body, than mix it up to the head.

I've always said Cotto didnt beat Mosley,that was a screw up job.The way he fought Judah was never supposed to be allowed,that was damn right cheating.He really was gifted against Clottey so it was a matter of time.Margaritto exposed him,Mayweather would have exposed him and Pacquiao exposed him.

I've been reading a lot about how would Floyd would, should, could have done that and actually the talk is more than interesting than his fights. Floyd is all talk and no action. And yet he call himself the greatest of all time. No wonder people have more respect on Pacquiao than Floyd.

Floyd cant HURT cotto the way Pac did. I think thats clear because Floyd has only one KO since 2005 or sumin like that.
And Pacquiao isn't WILD at all, he is agressive and he is ACCURATE. Mayorga is a wild puncher.
And Cotto still in my mind would beat Floyd and i think he needs another good tune up before he fights floyd tho to fix a couple or things in his fighting game. And if Floyd thinks he could whoop Cotto then why hasn't he fought him yet??????? i'll wait for that answer anyday now.

Have you seen Pacquiao fight? Even last night he was missing wild telegraphed punches when Cotto was HURT and standing right in front of him along the ropes. He DID look like Mayorga at times in there. He still gets off balance after throwing huge shots, and he still swings wildly at his target, and he still has no head movement. Floyd would school him.

Like I said before no excuses, Pacquiao was the best man. Cotto is clearly not the fighter who beat Mosley. I thought he would had use his right hand but he didnt. He did look like a fighter who wanted to fight and after 5 rounds he said **** it im paid, **** this ****.

His body language, told he gave up afte 8 rounds, cant say anythin else, this is what I think.


I still think Margarito cheated againts him by the way.


Manny Pacquiao, still comitted the same errros I pointed out before the fight. Cotto did owned him in the first roujnd with boxin skills, ut when Cotto decided to brawl, he made a mistake, got into Mannys game and paid for it. I think Cotto would had box, ut he didnt.

Im emarras when pacquiao told Cotto, to stop running and stand and fight **** was depressing really.



Anyways, the best man won, Pacquiao is clearly the bettter fighter and one of the best o all time, clearly the best of this era hands down. I still think Mayweather will schooll him, because he didnt do anything different in the ring, He just overwhelmed Cotto, with his speed.


And like I said no excuses the better man, won and thats all that theres to it.

Agree with this. The Cotto in the first 3 rounds of the fight who jabbed, timed his hooks and sought Pac's body would give Floyd hell. Cotto was quick enough there to hang with Pac. He just couldn't protect himself well enough against the lightning fast punches from awkward angles. But if he did his quick double- or triple-jabs against Floyd, cornered him, then went after that body while Floyd did his shoulder-rolling, he would have slaughtered Floyd.

Sadly, that fight has become a remote possibility now, after Pac showed the whole world how to neutralize MAC's offense and defense. Until he gets himself a new trainer who can plug the monster holes in MAC's defense, and add new tactics that he can use against speed merchants of Pac and Floyd's caliber, and until he rebuilds his confidence, MAC should stay away from them.

Cotto got beatdown because he is a punching bag. The Gatti of this generation. Plus the guy cant fight a full 12 to save his life. He is the best cornerback in all of boxing! the cotto hype is now laid to rest.

Props to pacq! I always thought he was over rated but he came to fight last nite and I will hold my thoughts until the hype becomes unbearable.

Cotto did jab. Manny just opened up in the 2nd. Miguel's mistake was the kd int he 4th round he could have avoided. Could have gone into the 5th tied 2-2 in rounds with the kd and it might be a slightly different fight. I think he did all he could do though.
