Welcome.
Back to the topic.
Thing is, a lot of people tend to bet with their hearts rather than their head. I saw a thread the other day where Animalistic (a rather rampant Cotto fan) was ragging on Freddy Krueger for betting against Cotto.
Freddy made a bet on who he thought would win, not on who he likes and roots for, and Animalistic didn't like it. He said, because Freddy bet against Cotto, he's not a true fan.
When it comes to betting, you must throw loyalty out the window, otherwise you will never be a smart gambler. I mean WTF, are you betting to make a statement of how loyal you are to your fighter or just to win some pretty meaningless forum points? If you chose the former rather than the latter, you're a fool, simple as that.
Me, I can't stand Mayweather. I think he's a slimeball and he is cheap, despite his "Lifestyle Flashy" gimmick and rubbing his wealth in people's faces. I'm a Marquez fan, but I certainly didn't hesitate to bet against Marquez because I knew he had no chance whatsoever above 135lbs.
Cast aside your bias if you want to be a good gambler.
