I think, in life, you must always show class in victory or defeat and some posters are lame. Giving Pacquiao a bad name is the only thing they can do.

Anyway, Cotto had a great start with the jab but his overconfidence, perhaps ego, got the better of him. The jab was constantly landing on Pacquiao and had he used it consistently, this fight might have been different. From the 4th round on Cotto's gameplan was terrible and he abandoned what was giving him good results in favor of a firefight. We all saw the result.

I think Cotto took a lot of unnecessary punishment and the corner did not do a good job. Honestly, after this I think Cotto should consider retirement because first the Margarito situation and now this. His style makes him get into battles and they take a toll on you. He's young and should be healthy. I don't know if he could be interested in rematching Margarito, but if so, he should retire win or lose.

I know some might disagree with me, but look at what happened to Erik Morales, who's one of my favorite boxers ever, because of the many wars he had. He was "old" at age 30. I don't think Cotto should get to the point where he experiences something like what happened to Erik.

I would like to conclude by stating that I'm not a hater. Some blind fans might think so, but I'm just thinking that there's something more important than the sport and that is his life. I was supporting Cotto 100% for this fight, but it was clear he could not adjust well, his corner was not up to the task, and the beating was probably worse than the Margarito fight. I would like to see him bounce back but I have my doubts about his chances. Well, thanks for reading and trolls, stay away. I have no time for nonsense.

Agreed. Cotto got off to a good start, but once he started exchanging, I sort of saw it going downhill for him. You would have thought that he would stick to what gave him results instead of trying to brawl. Maybe his "size" advantage really got to his head, and he thought he could bully Pac around.. I was also one of the people who thought Margarito took something out of Cotto, but I refused to accept it, especially for this fight but he just wasn't "there" somehow... Like you said, he needs to do some soul searching before he decides to go at it again.

          Cotto needs Freddie

By himself, Cotto is already an excellent fighter. Needless to say, his game still has a lot of holes that he needs to plug. He needs a trainer who can help him plug those holes and whose strategy will make full use of his talents. To me, that means Freddie Roach. And why not, Manny's near retirement anyway, and apart from Rigondeaux, no one else in Freddie's current stable comes close to MAC in terms of raw talent.

Cotto can still fight on, dont know why everyone keeps saying his ruined after this. Cotto accepts he lost to a great fighter and Pac is one of the greats of all time. Cotto being my 2nd favourite fighter, was sad also to watch it, felt he started off very well, but came away from the jab, started trying to **** which he would usually win but Pac is just too fast.

I do want him to get a new trainer, the inexperience showed last night when Cotto is in that situation.

Just to clarify, I did not mean he's ruined. Nobody knows that right now and only time will tell if Cotto still has the fire and desire to resurrect his career. I hope he does.

By the way, Malignaggi is one of my favorite fighters right now.
