I did mention the corner. I did not see any adjustments, although Santiago mentioned that Cotto should have used the jab and forget the firefight.

A fighter knows when his time is near, some ignore these warning but Cotto doesn't come across as the Foreman/Ali type. I think Cotto will retire when he's given all he can give.

To tell you the truth I know most PR's praise Trindad as top dog but I think Cotto's a better boxer than Trinidad ever was technically. Not as powerful or tough though. Tinidad was always a bit too stiff for my taste, but then again I'm a guy who appreciates the art of boxing over the pure thrill of a k.o !!!

I still like the idea of a Margarito rematch, but what would be the expense of taking that fight? If Cotto can handle it, go for it. If he feels he lost the passion, then stay away, because this is a type of sport that takes a lot of commitment and you risk your life in it, not just an ankle injury or broken wrist.

Good point... Cotto seems like a very intelligent man, so I think he can make the right decision for him and his family ...

First of all, props to Pacquiao and also congratulations although he will not be checking this thread out to know it. To ridiculous, disrespectful Pacquiao fans, there is nothing from me. I think, in life, you must always show class in victory or defeat and some posters are lame. Giving Pacquiao a bad name is the only thing they can do.

Anyway, Cotto had a great start with the jab but his overconfidence, perhaps ego, got the better of him. The jab was constantly landing on Pacquiao and had he used it consistently, this fight might have been different. From the 4th round on Cotto's gameplan was terrible and he abandoned what was giving him good results in favor of a firefight. We all saw the result.

I think Cotto took a lot of unnecessary punishment and the corner did not do a good job. Honestly, after this I think Cotto should consider retirement because first the Margarito situation and now this. His style makes him get into battles and they take a toll on you. He's young and should be healthy. I don't know if he could be interested in rematching Margarito, but if so, he should retire win or lose.

I know some might disagree with me, but look at what happened to Erik Morales, who's one of my favorite boxers ever, because of the many wars he had. He was "old" at age 30. I don't think Cotto should get to the point where he experiences something like what happened to Erik.

I would like to conclude by stating that I'm not a hater. Some blind fans might think so, but I'm just thinking that there's something more important than the sport and that is his life. I was supporting Cotto 100% for this fight, but it was clear he could not adjust well, his corner was not up to the task, and the beating was probably worse than the Margarito fight. I would like to see him bounce back but I have my doubts about his chances. Well, thanks for reading and trolls, stay away. I have no time for nonsense.

I'll just go to the point with my reply. You're entitled to an opinion but it's hard to take it seriously when there is an obvious bias and dislike for Cotto. I tell it like it is because I have watched many of your posts about Cotto.

I'm no Cotto stan but if you want to mess up with them, go for it. I'm not interested an any of that nor did I post nonsense or disrespectful stuff before the fight. I encourage anyone to find that type of post from me at any point during prefight hype.

I also think Cotto has fought every good opponent available for him for the last 4 or 5 years, just like Morales did during his heyday. He also showed tremendous heart last night, so it's his actions against your words. I think real fans know who Morales and Cotto are when it comes to guts and it's not up to me to convince them. Cotto got a ton of heart. He underestimated Pac in the beginning and got his ass beat for it. Only thing that bothers me is that after surviving for so long the ref didn't allow him the last two minutes for a UD loss instead. Looks better on the resume.

Cotto is my 2nd favorite fighter. It ****ing hurt watching him getting beaten. You know he's in his hotel room right now crying silent tears that drip down his mutilated face while replaying every instance of the fight in his head. After he consoles his wife and kid of course. He's a great boxer and person, but Pac was just too much.

I love that man Cotto, he has so much respect and class and I will definitely buy any future PPV of his.

For now tho, congratulations Pac-Man! The greatest fighter of this era!

I'm glad Pac won, but damn that was sad to watch Cotto take a beating like that. That was kinda heartwrenching. I felt for the guy, such a classy dude.
