Can anyone help me? I need to know which fight Lampley says "What an awesome show, what a great, great fight!" and "How do you like it?! How do you like it!" The first is from the intro to world championship boxing and the second I heard on the intro to the legendary nights series. I have a su****ion of Gatti ward but i'm not sure which one. THanks!

I'm pretty sure that the "How do you like it? How do you like it?!?" was Barry Tompkins, who held the HBO job prior to Lamps. I think it was on Hagler-Hearns, and it couldn't have been any Gatti-Ward because none of those fights made it to Legendary Nights.
Everyone knows Lampley can be incredibly biased, but I enjoy his PBP/commentary better than anyone else on boxing, if only because you know how he likes to stir the pot with Larry and Emanuel/Roy and formerly George. He's a HBO homer for sure, but highly entertaining and excitable.Comment

The Lampley line that killed me was when he said that "all the decibels of Mexico were brought north of the border". He said that in the intro to the Morales - Barrera 1 replay. Huh?!Comment

During the Vitali vs Corrie Sanders fight when Vitali started to unload on Sanders Lampley became excited and I remember him saying "and now Vitali is trying to put his man down" I always liked that one.Comment

Oh yeah, I just remembered, ejk22 reminded me of this one...as part of HBO's never-ending efforts to promote Vitali into Ivan Drago, this is Lamps during Vitali-Kirk Johnson...

I was grinning ear to ear shaking my head during that one.
