Because its quitting when you're taking a plaster-beating and you kneel because of the pain and your face is about to explode because its so swollen from the cheater hitting you. I will always be a Cotto fan but, there is no evidence of him using plaster vs Cotto, only Shane. If you want to make the argument that he always used it, Paul Williams still won.

People act like Margarito is total garbage, and that's fair if that's their opinion. I am not a fan of the guy either. But I at least admit that he's not the easiest guy in the world to beat. Mosley beat him up in a one-sided fight. But look at how many times he had to hit him to finally get him out of there. That was the only time that Margarito ever got dominated, and it's well-documented that he took that fight lightly and didn't show up in shape. I still think Mosley would beat him, just not as easily if the same version of Margarito showed up for Cotto. The thing that will always get Cotto done in against him is the fact that he'll fatigue before the accumulation of his punches on Margarito start to take effect. It's what happened last time, and it'll happen again if they ever fight. And even if Cotto beats Pacquaio tonight, I don't think he is walking out of the ring without damage.

Also, look at their respective fights against Clottey. Margarito went in the fight with an ankle injury and he beat Clottey more decisively than Cotto did. Cotto had to foul him to beat him when on the other hand Clottey just got a minor knuckle injury against Margarito.

Williams went 12 with Tony with Plaster with no problems.

No one caught him for sure that fight but they have pictures that look shady
