    Hagler vs Hearns Redux

    or

Hagler vs Sugar Ray Leonard all over again.

Cotto is the new Hagler. Underrated, Durable, Punches like a mule. Granite Chin. Half Machine.

Will he knock Pacquiao out within 6 ala Hearns (KO3) or lose in a SD to Pacquiao ala SRL?

    Vote.

I don't think it will look like either fight, but I think Pacquiao will be moving in the earlier rounds, in and out.

And Cotto can't be compared to Hagler, his chin is so not granite either.

pac and cotto don't fight anything like hagler, hearns or srl.

it will be a good fight on its own. if it goes 12 rounds, it will most likely be fight of the century so far.

Okay, the granite chin might be a stretch but he's never been KD or KO, although he took a knee from a beating from a guy who "could've" been loaded.

I watched Hagler all throughout the 80s and Cotto does remind me of him. The forward movement, the slight arrogance, the intense eyes, the heavy hands. Even the swagger. He is Hagleresque in my humble opinion.

I didn't say that they fight anything like Hagler, Hearns or SRL. Although, Cotto reminds me of Hagler. I was talking about how the fight will turn out and the parallels they have taken.

It's basically the guy with the great timing, power, chin, more serious and the natural at the weight class boxer fighting the faster, more exciting, boxer/puncher moving up in weight. It all has the same drama and big time boxing feeling that the Hagler vs Hearns or the Hagler vs SRL fights had.

Cotto has been KD, back when he was 140 lbs.
