Trinidad was fighter of the year in 2000 i'm pretty sure he was p4p#1 for a very short span with Hopkins taking over and then Roy getting it back by beating Ruiz.

Here is the answer. Fuck to the no if I had anything to do with the way they do their rankings. Floyd is the king cherry picker.

That's like saying John Ruiz was fighting a 160 pounder in Toney. If Toney made heavyweight, he's heavyweight.

If Pacquiao makes WW, he's WW.

It seems there is a double standard for Mayweather. If he fights #2 spot, he gets #2 spot. If someone fights and beats #1 spot... Floyd gets #1 spot.

So if Floyd went up to MW to fight Pavlik instead of fighting Hatton in late 2008, and lost, Pavlik should have been P4P #1?

              hes already P4P#1

thats why Cotto and Pac are fighting for a ultrafight with May. hes not fighting for a shotat them. that says what their positions and ranking ares

Had Floyd beaten Abraham and Taylor before, of course.

You seem to forget Manny made Oscar stay sit at 145 and KTFO'd Hatton at 140.
Oh, yes, I forgot "but Oscar was dehydrated/shot/sick and Hatton was overrated".

Isn't P4P exactly that? That if you are P4P the best, once you make weight, you clean out a division because - Pound for Pound - no one can match you?

i believe that 100%....cotto's # 4 now fighting the #1 in pac.....floyd was'nt in the p4p when he fought jmm who was # 2 at that time.....if cotto beats pac he desrves to be # 1....

No pound for pound is, if everyone was the same weight, height, size, etc. etc., who would win based on their skill set.

The answer to that question is Floyd Mayweather Jr.
