Roach never, ever said that Joe is an ahole, a douche, a scumbag or anything. Roach said that Joe's inexperienced, is that even debatable? And when Roach said these things like we're gonna win this one, I got the better fighter, Cotto isn't the same anymore (He's not the only one, but that doesn't include me) isn't it just the words you'll expect from a trainer? To up his boxer?

I'd expect plenty of things. But Santiago pissed off Roach. Hence the threat. If Roach can play mind games, why can't Santiago? I doubt Santiago wants to kill Roach and wishes him ill.

Santiago has kept it cool, but when Cotto delivered on what Roach was SO adiment about (claiming he wouldn't even fight Cotto if he didn't get to 146 or better), Santiago was able to get into Roaches head.

Even Mayweather Sr. has never really made Roach make a physical threat. It's all mind games, and they both played well. I have no sympathy for Roach, simply because he has an illness. He's a grown man, and he doesn't NEED the sympathy. He's not some sorry, sad sack. He's a millionaire who's in the top of his chosen profession. How many nights I will cry over THAT.

There's some hint of truth to what you said, but I'm sure Joe wanted to return the favor to Roach much earlier, except there's a language barrier which is holding him back. Freddie Roach is like a pea**** showing off his beautiful tail when it comes to interviews, and he earned it, which I couldn't say the same for Joe, but I'm sure Joe will have his, in time.
