    disrespect to fighters

when fighters get thru with a hard fought match, why the hell doesnt hbo or showtime let the fighters give thanks to their ppl or whoever they want. the fighters are always rushed or interrupted. it happens more on hbo with larry merchant. that **** never happens on ufc they have all the time they want.give the fighters more time

They usually let the fighters say thanks up to the point where they start thanking thier sponsors. The networks usually don't let fighters thank sponsors that are not sponsoring the network itself which is to be expected since the sponsors pay for advertisment on the network.

Media Networks are stingy when it comes to giving out time in the spotlight. Remember Tyson/Douglas? Larry Merchant had the nerve to say: "I felt, that he was trying to get one chance....and I was going to run with it" etc.

No kidding Larry, he just beat god himself. I suppose you could let him talk at least 1 time. And for the most part, I totally agree. Fighters are not given enough time to express themselves. Vargas did. He said a two minute prayer in Spanish before continuing the conversation with Larry. I suppose, he is "Fernando Vargas" and all.

Um the only thing that bugs me when fighters are talking is when they say a prayer. I mean Fernando after he won the fight was running around the ring and going on all the turnbuckles but as soon as he was being interviewed he started praying. It seems to me like those type of fighters are doing it just to look pious and **** infront of the audience. I mean the bible says dont complain and brag about being on fast because God sees everything...

Edit: just fyi im not against ppl praying nor am i a christian

I think after fights, fighters should be able too talk as much they want.

lol, it depends on the fighter I think. Some fighters they favour maybe allowed to speak a bit more. I think Naz wasn't interupted even though he kept repeating himself. Pacman was also able to thank quite a few ppl as if he just won an award, lol...although it did look like Merchant wanted to cut him off. Other fighters on the other hand...forgot the fighter name who taylor fought and Merchant pushed out the way.

exactly - did you see Farhood look kind of nervous when Don King started hyping the Ruiz-Toney fight, an HBO Fight, on the Showtime telecast last night? lol
