Tomasz Adamek intrested in a fight with David Haye

Cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek, who tested the waters at heavyweight with a dominant knockout performance against Andrew Golota last month, will have his second consecutive fight at heavyweight on Feb. 6, Main Events promoter Kathy Duva told ESPN.com on Thursday night.

In the biggest fight in Polish history, Adamek, who was outweighed by 42 pounds, moved up in weight and knocked out the faded Golota, who is 0-3-1 in heavyweight title fights, in the fifth round in Lodz, Poland, on Oct. 24.

Adamek (39-1, 27 KOs), who is based in Jersey City, N.J., where he has a strong following in the Polish community, will return for a 12-rounder against an opponent to be named.

He will fight at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., where he drew raucous crowds for the three bouts he fought there before going to Poland to face Golota.

"There was a lot of pressure to go back to Poland, but we don't want to lose the momentum we have built up [in Newark]," Duva said. "We'll go back to Poland eventually, especially since Tomasz is a big star there now."

Adamek was forced to give up his sanctioning organization belt in order to take the lucrative fight with Golota, but he remains the lineal and Ring magazine cruiserweight champion, and has said he will fight again at cruiserweight if the right opportunity presents itself. But for now, he'll fight at heavyweight.

"He wants to fight at heavyweight again. It makes sense," Duva said. "He was comfortable at the weight [214 pound] and he wanted to try it again."

One of the heavyweight fights Adamek would like is against England's David Haye, the former cruiserweight champ who claimed a heavyweight belt last week with a decision against Nikolai Valuev.

"He wants that fight. They're the same size," Duva said. "Tomasz said that if Haye wants to fight someone who actually will punch back, he'd be happy to fight him."

Adamek's a hard bastard. This could be a war.

Gotta love how nobody will say Adamek is going for Haye for an easy world title rather than a Klitschko. Haye got **** for taking the Valuev fight and not fighting Klitschko's, but it's fine for Adamek to do it.

Either way i agree it's a good fight and should be made. Adamek has scary punch resistance.
