    Why Won't Holyfield Just Retire?

I was watching Holyfield vs. Moorer II and I heard one of the broadcasters say Holyfield was thinking about retiring. That was in 1997, So how could he still be fighting in 2005!? He had such a great career, he should have retired after his first fight with Ruiz in 2000. He won that fight and a championship he could have went out on a happy ending. But he never wants to stop, I thought he would have beaten Larry Donald but he even lost to him. Its just getting worse and worse he is shot and he continues to tranish his legacy. Now he wants to fight in Germany, someone needs to stop Holyfield before he hurts himself. He is a great person, fighter and champion that should retire and live happy with the riches and glory he rightfulley earned in the ring.

    EVANDER PLEASE RETIRE!!!

Thats interesting that you should bring that up, because I was just watching an interview with him after he beat Tyson the first time, and the reporter asked him if he was gonna give Tyson a rematch, and Evander said that he didn't know because he might retire!

    This was in 1996!

Something or someone has convinced The Real Deal to keep on fighting despite the fact that I could probably beat him at this stage in his career.

I just saw Holyfield in I think it was Mcdonalds scholarship , he was one of the judges for the dunk contest, and he looked really bored.
        I think Holyfield needs money.

Boxing is pretty much all he knows. He has probably gotten so used to training and fighting that he can't function right without it. Maybe he just needs someone to follow him around and throw punches at him for the rest of his life.

how can a heavyweight thats been in the spotlight for years have money problems (unless u mike tyson)

I don't believe Holyfield is doin this for the money
I think he's doin it cuz he took to many ****in shots to the head from Rid**** Bowe, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Michael Moorer, George Foreman, etc. and in his own wolrd thinks he can be tha champ again

I hope he doesnt end up like Meldrick Taylor which it looks like he's on his way or maybe even worse

holyfield should start training fighters cause its getting hard to understand him. i dont know why he is still fighting, he has made a ton of money and has won everything but he continues to get his ass handed to him. his fights arent even close, he even got beat by larry donald
