If only he didn't have the worst fanbase in boxing.
Manny Pacquiao is great for the sport of boxing!

Why is his fanbase the worst? Floyd fans are far worse. Pac fans demand Floyd fight Pacman, while Floyd fans make excuses why Floyd shouldn't they act like they are floyd and repeat the i still gots my oh crap.
So how are they worse?Comment

They only care about Manny and anyone associated to Manny. Read a check hooks or a pac boy post and get back to me. Absolute nonsense.Comment

Because they spend all their waking hours on youtube e and on here spouting nonsense and don't really have any clue about boxing itself nor it's history. As a historian it really really bugs me.

What you said can easily be reversed for any fanbase if you pick out the most hardcore "fans". It also appears you can't realize when someone is trolling. You're kidding yourself if youve come to a complete conclusion that fans or followers of any fighter are a certain way based on two posters on boxingscene.
I could easily come to a conclusion that all floyd fans are racist because some dude called me a dog eater, but I would be wrong to group the ignorant with the sensible fans that have respect for everyone.Comment

Christ man, can't you see you are making assumptions based on two single posters on a boxing forum?

Like let's use junior gong for example, recently banned. Literally obsessed with Floyd and his fans. Does that mean he loves all things Pacquiao? no.Comment

I agree with this, and the title of the thread. Manny is great for the sport, his fans though, ugh. But I disagree with much of the OP, Oscar was great for the sport and carried boxing for a while, and was a true cash cow and a complete fighter. If Oscar got the nod that night, it indeed would have saved boxing.
But fighters like Floyd, Bradley, Maidana, marquez, fury, yaegashi and froch are also good for the sport of boxing.Comment

Just not on here, youtube as well as other boxing boards are just terrible. And I'm not one of the guys that think just because they may or may not hate Mayweather, that they are automatically in love with Pacquiao either. But the diehard pac nuts aren't hard to figure out.

He was just trolling and personally attacking other posters, shouting racism. The usual. Surprised he lasted this long to be honest.Comment

- Millions of PPV's sold
- Endorsement deals left and right
- Sold out arenas (especially an impressive 53k in cowboys stadium against a relative no-namer clottey)
- Diverse fanbase, judging from a lot of non-Pinoys I saw at Pac-Bradley II
- STILL gettin love despite the losses
Most importantly, Manny Pacquiao fans are paying fans. We go out and support our guy, the number$ back that up; f*** message boards. The reason Pac is considered a cash cow for boxing is because of his fanbase.
The fact that you two are making judgements based on what you see online tells me your own boxing "fandom" doesn't extend past the internet.
