He was clearly not the same old Marguez. He moved up in weight and very fast. He was 36 years old. Mayweather was tover ten pounds heavier. He didn't fight the same fighter period.

Mayweather fought 2 fighters in a god damn row that weren't even 147 pounders!!! Avoiding the top WW's as he normally does!

Mayweather Jr avoided Williams, Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, Clottey, all to fight 140 pounders and 135 pounders at 147.

no floyd does not get any credit. especially when you considered how Marquez looked in the ring at welter. cotto or shane would have destroyed Marquez at welter and floyd was content on winning a dec. just like against baldo and oscar.

floyd could have pushed for tko victories over Marquez, baldo, oscar and probably got at least 2 out of the 3 out of there but he doesnt risk anything.

now compare floyd victory with cotto victory coming later on tonight.

at least pac fought beat the man at 140 and looked great at 140.

so cotto should get a bit of credit after he tko's pac but not to much because pac has not fought any one worth merit at welter

and of course if by some miracle pac wins tonight he deserve full credit for beating a fighter in cotto that has consistently proven himself to be elite at welter.

hopkins fought wright and pavlik at 170.

winky was a renowned 154 pounder who'd only beaten two shot 160 pounders worth naming. pavlik had already shown that he wasn't the same fighter 5 pounds over 160 in his rematch with taylor. both fighters were outside of their preferred weight class.

anthony hanshaw hadn't fought over 168 in 3 years when he fought roy and jeff lacy had never fought over 170. both fighters were outside of their preferred weight class.

ricky hatton had fought over 140 only once in ten years before he fought floyd in a decision victory over luis collazo. jmm had only fought over 130 once and that was his victory over juan diaz. both fighters were outside of their weight class.

my point is this, roy, hopkins and floyd all fight fighters outside of their weight class and floyd is the only one being called a ***** for it.

I love how Floyd tries to reverse everything too, I and so did Mangler said before this bs Mayweather/Marquez fight that Mayweather deserved 0 credit for fighting a 135 pound fighter. And then when Max Kellerman tells it how it is Floyd starts flipping out like the spaz he is.

imo no this win isn't as big as pbf's wins over DLH, hatton, corrales, castillo etc however this was a good fight for pbf to announce himself back on the boxing scene and a good fight to shake off the ring rust.

if a LW pbf had just done to marquez what a WW pbf did to marquez i would say he needs to be p4p 1 no doubt about it.
