Yeah because it is so bad to lose to 2 elite fighters ,****** ass logic , All this **** about boxing is in a decline , is diyng , Fans are killing this **** , back in the days , mofos with 50+ fights , 10+ championship defenses ,30+ battles , and they kept fighting and and making competitive fights against each other. Wtf Cotto has only has 2 real battles , He has dominated the rest of his opponents for the most part , If he losses to Manny , you cant take credit from Cotto , Cuz in a way ur taking it from Pac Too , Pac is Great Cotto is Great , all these fans talking like they know , is easy to talk , anyone can sit in front of a screen and talk all that **** . Cotto is going up against the best wtf do you expect , he is only human , he aint invincible , he got plenty left , Look at B-hop , Look at R.Jones , Campas , For gods sake , look at De la Hoya!!! Cotto has plenty in the tank he is going against the p4p king , and he actually has a good chance to win , If he loses it would only be to the best fighter in the planet in this moment. You cant take any credit from him for steping up and taking the challenge.

Losing to a great small man should never be considered the first step to palookaville. Of course the way he loses - if he does lose - impacts the decision. If he loses like de la Hoya the question would be more: Is Pac really THAT good!? rather than: Does Cotto suck?

If he loses like Hatton, yeah Cotto's rep will be in big trouble. He'll have to have some monster wins, or at least a string of victories over top fighters to get his rep back.

Now if it was a Hearns-Hagler war for 3 rounds with Cotto getting KTFO he builds his rep as a warrior and his all-time status will be decided by his following fights.

A loss for cotto, woudl simply mean, that he losses out on the Mayweather vs the World sweepstakes. If he chose he could still make good money beating some other good opponents out there. Both fighters are almost in a win, win situation, they only thing that is going to really hurt after this fight is someone's pride, but I think emotionally, and psychologically Cotto can't take another loss, especially not by a devasting knockout...
