I love both these guys, but it's become doubly apparent to me lately that Cotto is a man of truly exceptional character.
I was watching the Gorilla Productions edit of La Battalia for the umpteenth time last night and was awestruck at the heart, stoicism and fortitude Cotto displayed. Every time I watch it his effort in that fight becomes an increment more impressive to me - quit or no quit, there is no way he didn't leave everything he had in the ring that night. And if he quit, he did so for the most righteous cause (his family). He was a rock against Clottey, too, in hard times.


Miguel Cotto is a great man. In a personal sense, I feel he deserves this one just that little bit more, so I'm pulling for him.
