    He was a great fighter.. And being that he was a pretty boy he was also a warrior, went in there for the KO. Great fighter.

      Oscar started at super featherweight and moved all the way up to fight Hopkins! Before the liver shot, he was actually holding his own against a guy who would go on to win a light heavyweight title two years later.

      Pacquiao or Mayweather wouldn't have the balls to do that, they won't even go for Paul Williams.

            that was too much for him so late in his career;
            is like facing a boxer about to retire versus a prime fighter.....

              Oscar didn't fear his opponents, but they did fear him. Good allround fighter and with a heart!

                  He was a ticket seller. Anybody that filled seats like him is a wanted opponent. So if anybody did fear him, they would fight him anyway. A payday like that doesn't come around often.

                    Great points in this thread.

                    The only world class fighter you could even argue that he "ducked" was Winky Wright, and he brought nothing to the table financially, which was the primary reason that fight never happened.

                    I would argue that he beat Mosley in the second fight and many would argue that he beat Trinidad, there's two big wins over Hall of Famers that he doesn't have on his official ledger.

                    But as a promoter, he has been a bit disappointing. The whole flip-flop from "Manny didn't hurt me," to "I have to wonder about him," is ridiculous.

                    But in the ring, world-class, top-notch, first ballot hall of famer who has done more for boxing than anyone not named Tyson since the days of Ali.

                      Pac came up from 130 to KTFO of delajuya, Made him quit..Pac never lost a round. Mayweather almost knock him out in the fourth and slapped him all around the ring!! Why didn't joto fight Margarito, Cotto, P.Williams, Winky Wright, V. Forrest, Joppy, etc. etc. etc. "Feared?" YEAH RIGHT!!!!!! HE'S THE ONE THAT FEARED.
