That's a hell of a statement, especially when he didn't beat ANY prime all-time great heavyweights during that period. The truth is he defeated a couple of above-average fighters along with plenty of average ones and tomato cans.
I'm not saying the guy lacked talent, but it was backed - pound for pound - by the media.
I'd back him against Haye, but not to the lunatic "He'd knock him out with the first punch" level. Haye is a better fighter than many people give credit.Comment

This has Mike Tyson-Michael Spinks written all over it. How many of Tyson's right hands and left hooks you think Haye's chinny chin chin would absorb? Of course you probably think Tyson was as slow as Valuev so Haye would spend the night moving away from Mike and spraying jabs and rights all night.
