He was unsteady on his feet, very hesitant to move and reminded me exactly the way Castillo looked and performed against Hatton. WEAK.
And considering that he gave Manny all credit for making him decide to completely retire, we have to believe Oscar when he said that Manny didn't punch hard. He meant, of course that a welterweight should not be bothered by Manny's power.

Its like if you have a regular sized hammer.. and then another hammer with a wider head that also weighs a few ounces more..
Your argument is the regular hammer does more damage? Ok. My argument is they do different kinds of damage.
Blunt vs Piercing.

But.. if you know fighters and I'm sure you do, you know they love to claim they ain't get hurt. I get that in sparring all the time, hit em with a shot to the body, they smile shrug it off. Work that same spot, they smile, but its more strained... continue to work that spot...and.. the only time they stop pretending is when they kneel. But they pretend all the way up till then. Boxers LOVE to pretend, its part of the whole game. But all you need do is look at his face. There is a picture of it around here somewhere.
He was hurt or he wouldn't have agreed to quit... Oscar just has a good chin, even with all the excuses you can throw at me.

Just like Corrales eh? Oh yes, I remember your post.
Or,,, Manny was just that good. Sure, Oscar not having been that light for several years was a factor, but remember he Fought Forbes and did aite.. at 150. So 8 lbs is going to make him a mummy? I don't get that. My body fluctuates 6lbs or so if I do more running than usual and skip a meal or two.
This is a leap of logic I just don't get. If Oscar was humiliated in the ring, what else is he going to say? His star had faded almost completely by then. People weren't going to pay anymore for his PPV's and be dissapointed. It was a perfect time to retire.
