I disagree. Just watch the vids mang. His media workouts show this. When he shadow boxed--his hand speed is not as quick like his SFW days and slowed down a bit. His hand speed probably is still faster though but not to some insane level.

However, when you look at pacquiao shadow box when he starts moving--he appears to have CRAZY hand speed. It's deceptive. That's probably what Cotto saw if the quotes are reliable.

While you are laughing, what you should take into consideration is this; People think Pacquiao's speed wtill overwhelm cotto similar to how it did against DLH, Diaz, and Hatton.

Well Judah and Mosley are just as fast as Manny and never once did you think in either of those fights "those fighters are overwhelming Miguel". They weren't beating him to the punch and actually cotto was catching them and outboxing them. So while Cotto may not have the same handspeed....the real picture you should be gertting from this is that Cotto will not be overwhelmed like all these other boxers Manny has faced.

Judah and Mosley don't throw punches like Manny. Judah throws mainly single shots, then has an enormous brain fart in round 4. Manny throws 10 for every 1 Judah throws. You can't compare them. Manny is so much better than Judah it's not even possible to calculate how much better he is, your calculator would just set on fire and then explode.

Here is the interview. I think it is more of a wrong use of words in his part. I think he means more that he has prepared to neutralize his speed and that if pacquiao is prepared to neutralize his power. (Link below 1:57 into the video)

On the other hand, in the link below you can also see Manny smiling ( 47 seconds into the interview) when asked something about cotto's power as if he does not believe Cotto is stronger physically.

Pads are not everything. When Cotto actually goes hard on the mits--it fairly resembles Pacquiao's speed. That's just my opinion.

Honestly, hand speed for both fighters is relatively in the same ball park. Foot speed that's different. That's all pacquiao.
