Vitali needs to quit being a little ***** and fight Byrd. I dont see why Vitali is so hell bent on NOT fighting Byrd, he says he dominated him rounds 1-10 and then quit because of an injury. If he made so much easy work for Byrd, why not go and get another title?

Perhaps its the fact that Vitali and his brother are still having fantasies of being heavyweight champs at the same time? Well Byrd got spanked by Wladimir but at this point, I would favor Byrd over Wladimir.

If something doesnt get on the ball and rolling, Byrd will be fighting Toney regardless of the outcome of the Ruiz matchup. As King got options on Toney and this would be a way for King to make some big dollars in his pocket.

Wlad needs to chase the NABO belt if he wants to become a champion at the same time as his brother.....

Why is Vitali not wanting to fight Byrd and keeps his name out of his mouth and says that Byrd should fight Wlad? To me that is ducking, they got personal beef and Vitali should avenge his bogus loss. But Vitali seems to be satisfied fighting lower level tier guys as opposed to being champion. He wants so desperately to be received as the main champion in the heavyweight division....But why? He isnt doing anything spectacular and any of the current crop of heavyweights would have fought Lennox valiantly and show heart anyways. Vitali hasnt showed me anything spectacular to call him the heavyweight champion of the world.

Byrd/Ruiz both want unification, Vitali has no intentions of making that happen....Why?

I think Vitali`s problem is Don King. King with his ways has prevented many a fight coming off if it isn`t in his interested. King would cut his right arm off before he let any of his flawed heavyweights near Klitscko. Also, Klitsko has stated that he won`t give King options. So why would King hand the IBF title to Klit? It wouldn`t make sense. I`m suprised he`s trying to get a Wlad - Byrd rematch. He must be conifident that Byrd can win!

No it isnt confidence, Wlad is still a draw. At the time of the first wlad/byrd fight King wasnt promoting Byrd. Now if King got his hands on a down heavyweight who is WHITE that still draws. King will make the most of it and pull a Berbick and step past Byrd and hand the title to Wlad himself, considering he would get options on Wlad.

King promoting Wlad is a dream come true, a white heavyweight who draws....That would be Kings plan, Byrd doesnt make King squat and they have heat on each other especially with King promising Byrd a minimum 3 million dollar payday....Now thats crazy Byrd doesnt draw...Now paying Wlad 1.5 million per fight and drawing is what puts light bulbs above Kings head....Trust me, if that fight ever happened Byrd would have to knock out Wlad to win.

Wlad is vulnerable to King as he isnt really a top guy after his back 2 back losses.....

True, Wlad needs the chance that King can give him. I think Wlad is a new Gerry Cooney type of fighter. Looks good in practice but so vunerable against top flight ( or even medium ) opponents.
If King can match him against fighters like Byrd, guys who can`t punch, he might prolong the title reign but I think King is the best thing for Wlad. They both need each other. I do hope Byrd wins though. I`m not a Byrd fan but i don`t like the way Wlad can hand pick a champ he can beat because his complextion deems him mandatory challenger.

Good post, Depending on Wlads stamina issues (if their are any) Byrd might be able to pull it off down the stretch. Best thing would be for Byrd to make Wlad chase him for the first half, just run his ass off and make himself throw punches while Byrd counters and then around round 6 step it up and pick off his shots from a tired Klitschko....Thats if he got tired....

Hey your statement about complexion and getting championship fights without proving...Hey thats boxing and thats why it needs a change and stop killing this sport....

i guess i'll be the voice of opposition. Rahman beats Klitschko. Klitschko is robotic in his movements and slow and lumbering with his punches and seemed to be out of breath by the 2nd round of his fight against Williams. Rahman, on the other hand, can move, can punch and will take it to Klitschko. now, if Rahman gets careless and caught with something early, it'll change everything, but i think he'll fight a smart fight and take the title by majority decision.
